NATIONAL SCIENTIFIC ADVISORY BOARD
OF
ROTARIANS AGAINST MALARIA

25th February 1999

Dear Fellow Rotarian,
This is to introduce David Robertson who is disabled and is travelling around the world by jeep as an initiative of the Malaria Foundation.  He has two primary goals.  The first is to visit more than 150 countries by jeep and break the world record set by a German couple who visited 117.  The second purpose of his journey is to help the fight against one of the world's biggest killers - Malaria.

As you know, some 300 million people suffer from Malaria, with an estimated daily death rate of 4000.  85% of the problem is in Africa.

We have given David a list of contacts in the Rotary World along the lines of his expedition.  If you or your members are able to help him in any way we shall be most
grateful and appreciative.

Yours in Rotary,
Dr Brian Hanley
Chairman

P.S.  If you and your members would be interested in any of our Rotarians Against Malaria (R.A.M.) activities we shall be delighted to hear from you.
