The symposium is being organized jointly by National Institute of Malaria Research (NIMR), Delhi and National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme, (NVBDC), Delhi under the auspices of National Academy of Vector Borne Diseases (NAVBD), Bhubaneswar. The symposium will feature plenary lectures, invited lectures and contributed paper presentations (both oral and poster) on key issues of Disease Vectors and Vector Borne Diseases especially Malaria, Filariasis, Dengue, Japanese Encephalitis, Chikungunya and Kala-azar. The main focus of the symposium would be on the genomics and vector population management. There would be 3 cash prizes each for the best oral and poster presentations for the young scientists (below 35 years as on 1st January 2008). An International Workshop on Insecticide Resistance will be organized on 14th February 2007 at Puri. Due to limited space, the entry to this workshop in by invitation only.
