This award acknowledged the longstanding role the MFI has played in creating awareness and information about malaria (see Malaria Advocacy, the beginnings ), as well as the fact that the malaria field had not yet reached the media threshold. The award is accompanied by one year of analysis on malaria in the media and other supportive assistance to help break this trend. See Media Tenor’s newsletter report.
